GREY HARBOR BOARD.

The adjourned meeting of the Greymouth Harbor Board was held last night, Present: Messrs Kettle (chairman), Ken-, Campbell, Petrie, Mathcson and Shccdy. The Chairman said the Railway Department stated that they could not lease or sell locomotive, but he understood there was another engine that could be got. The overseer had given him a detailed list of timber required. He would give the order for the diamond crossing at Cobden bridge. The plan for protection of tug in river was proposed to be sent on to the Marine Department for the opinion of engineers on same. The plan proposes a projection into the river 40 feet just above where tug is generally moored. Consideration deferred. From Mr Morgan bringing under the notice of the Board a model grab for depositing stone where required at the tip-head. Referred to engineer to report upon,

Mr Kitchingham reported that in his opinion the Board was not liable for Brunuor rates inasmuch as that the Board only got rents from such laud. Since then the Magistrate had given a decision against such opinion, and tho only way would he to test the land. Mr Mathosou thought they should see the matter through, and moved that consideration stand over till next meeting. Carried. From Mr Christopher of the Railway Department urging that the face-piling should he continued along the face of the wharf flic whole way. Consideration deferred till next meeting, as to whether the work ho done by contract or day labor. From (lie Marine Department declining to appoint Mr Bees engineer. Besol ved tilat Mr Thompson be appointed and that Department be asked to sanction the appointment. The Chairman said Mr Thompson approved of repairing the old bridge, but thought it would cost more than set down by Mr Bees, He, the Chairman, favored the temporary repairs to bridge to enable work to be proceeded with at once, and the new structure could proceed subsequently. Mr Petrie moved that the Government be asked to appoint Mr Thompson, and immediately upon reception of such appointment, the Chairman instruct Mr Thompson to get old bridge temporary repaired; to prepare plans for new bridge ; and get lines ready to quarries. . Seconded bj' Mr Sheedy and carried.

Mr Campbell moved that tenders he called for supply of timber for twelve mojiths and building ten trucks. Seconded by Mr Matheson and carried.
