Count von Walderseo marked his appreciation of the Governor of Shantung’s energy in protecting Germans and refrains from sending European troops to carry out repressive operations at Shantung. Shong has beon appointed vice-Presi-dont of the Ministry of Commerce with the view of a revision of Chinese commercial relations with the Powers.
