GREY MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

[Before J. G. Thomas, Esq., J.P.] George Oughlon was charged with obtaining by false pretences a watch and chain, .cigar holder and other articles. On the application of Sergeant Shirley, accused was remanded till Thursday. [Before Messrs Yarrall and Thomas, ,T. Fs/ Joseph Marks was charged with stealing from a railway carriage a parcel of clothes belonging to a man named Ecare. The ovideuce in this case indicated that there was no intended theft, both men being under the influence of liquor. One witness stated that he saw both men walking up and down the railway station together, the accused having the parcel under his arm without any attempt to hide it. Another witness deposed that Ileare came and asked him for the loan of a pound in order to pay for the parcel, hut lie subsequently admitted they wanted it for drink. 'The accused endorsed the latter statement. The Bench dismissed the information.
