UNIVERSAL PENNY POSTAGE.
The following is a copy of the telegram sent by His Worship the Mayor on June 2nd to the Hon. J. G. Ward re penny postage and reply thereto: —• " The Hon. J. G. Ward, PostmastcrGeneral, Wellington.—On behalf of the citizens of Groymouth I tender you our hearty congratulations on the inception of the penny postage, which is greatly due to your personal influence and ability as Minister of the Postal Department.— A. Matheson, Mayor." "A. Matheson, Esq., Mayor, Greymouth. —Thank you very much for 3 r our kind telegram. I very much appreciate the message from the citizens of Grey-mouth.-J. G. Ward."
