GREY ELVER HOSPITAL CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION. HUGS ORIENTAL BAZAAR. In Aid of Building the Second Wing of the New Hospital. DECEMBER 28th (Friday) Grand Bicycle Gymkhana—Decorated Bicycles, Four-in-Hand, Trick Biding and Bill Posting Extraordinary, to commence at 2 30 p.ra.

His Worship the Mayor has kindly fore gone tho usual custom of celebrating the close of the year at his residence in order that the Fire Brigade will be enabled to give a grand Fy rote clinical Display in aid of tho Hospital on tho High School Grounds, to which place they will load a monster procession. JANUARY 2nd, 1901 (Wednesday). Tho Chinese Public Display Association will leave Boundary street at 9 p.ra. in grotesque procession, and march to the School Grounds, whore a grand display of fireworks will take placs. The fireworks arc being specially imported from China for the purpose. Tho Bazaar will bo open every afternoon and evening except Sunday from Boxing Day to January sth, 1901. The chief attractions are the stalls, which will represent the Courts of Japan, China, India, and our Federal Empire. ENDLESS INDOOR GAMES AND PASTIMES.
MAYPOLE AND OTHER DANCES. Refreshment Kiosks, Confectionery and Book Stalls, Old Curiosity Shop, Picture Gallery, and Art Union. Mr Rae s Grand Guess, and a Chinese display occupying a whole room entitled “ihc New Jerusalem,” and last but not least the Armoury Room, which will contain Maxim and Boer guns kindly lent by the Premier to the Hospital Committee. In this room will also be shown a splendid carving, life size,»of the Lion and her whelps, and an imago of Kruger 9ft high. The working of the guns will be explained by a man sent especially from Wellington for the purpose. For further information see Posters.
