COLLINGWOOD ROAD BOARD.
A meeting of the -above Board was held last- Tuesday evening. All members except Mr Squires present. Minutes of previous meeting were confirmed.
Letter and telegram read from Mr R. Hursthouse stating that the Government will grant £‘z for .£1 for a bridge at Salisbury’s crossing of the Aorere. Resolved that application be made for two-thirds ol .£2OO, and that plans be prepared for next meeting.
Letter road from Mr A. Dy r er of Ferntown re drain to liis hou;e. Resolved that the Clerk inspect and report. Resolved that Tenders for the Aorere bridge he called as soon as the Board are advised that Plans and specifications are placed in the Wellington and Nelson offices.
Proposed by’ Mr Skilton and seconded by Mr R. P. Riley— That the By’-law relating to settlers paying part of cost of by’-roads, he rescinded. On being put to the meeting the voting was even, for and against. The Chairman then voted against the proposition stating that it could be again brought forward at some luture sitting ii thought advisable to do so. Verbal application received from Mr G. Cederman for an approach to be made from river to his property at Riverdale. Resolved that matter he con-idered if application were sent, in writing.
