PROFESSOR HUGO.
There was a large attendance on the niglus of Saturday and Monday last to hear the Professors lectures, which are both amusing and instructive, and the /'public opinion is that in most of his readings of character he was remarkably correct.
The Daily Telegraph states that a man named Knowles, a member of the Salvation Army, has confessed to “Major” Barker that (Knowles) murdered F. M. Bates the actor.
Last Sunly evening a Boston divine suddenly paused somewhere near the end of his sermon and said; We would be glad if that young man in the vestibule would come inside and satisfy himself whether she is or is not here. Thai would be much better than keepan half-inch draught on the occupants of the back pew. Scene 1 - A Chinese Sunday school not far from this office. Time:— The end of the session.
