John Hart, the chief steward of tbe Bose Casey, on leaving the vessel slipped on the top wall and fell between the breast work and the vessel, striking hia bead and was rendered unconscious. He is not expected to Jive. He is 45 years of age and is married. The human remains found at Drunken Bay are stated to be those of a Maori, and must have been there 30 years. Hawera, This Day. Wm. Faull attempted suicide at Eltham yesterday by cutting bis throat with a razor. He was brought to Hawera. Tbe wound is serious. Dunedin, October 6. The body of a man (unidentified) was found partly covered with sand on the beach alongside tbe Heads breakwater. Robert Stewart, employed at tbe Rhnndhill Mine near Riverton, was found dead in the claim to-day. Hia body was blocking the mouth of tbe elevator, and one arm was torn off by tbe jet.
