The twenty four hour's walking match was concluded on Saturday. After having gone 88 miles 14 laps Wmtrop retired, being then 7 laps behind J. Scott. After going 98 miles 6 laps T, Scott also retired. Joe Scott continued walking till tbe end of tbe 24 hours, and covered 111 miles. Thames, Sept 17. Charles Boden, a foreigner, was charged at the police Court to-day with stabbing Joseph Thompson with a pen knife. Dr Hooper, who is attending the injured man, said be did not deem him out of danger. He believed the lungs had been touched, as Thompson was spitting blood. Bail was refused until Thompson has b^en declared out of danger. The case was adjourned.
