Wanganui Education Board.

DOMESTIC ECONOMY,

At the List meeting of the above Board , Mr Spimllc presented the following report: — The question of arranging condi* uons and terms under which classos in the above subject shall be established, having been referred to your CDimnittee, we now beg to report us follow. 1 : — I. That one of the class rooms at the Girls' School, being conveniently situated, should be made adaptable for the purpose. 11. That in our opinion a qualified teacher can be procured and should be appointed at a salary of £lo per annum. 111. That the syllabus shou d include the imparting of a practical and theoretical knowledge of plain cooking, to which hhould be added instruction in scullery and other domestic work, together with the comparative value of foods, &c. We are also of opinion that the usefulness and popularity of the classes would be increased if it is found practicable to make laundiy work one of the subjects to be taught. IV. That the terms shall be concurrent with the other classes in Ihe Technical School at a charge of 5a per annum, with a feu of 2s 6d per annu n for all children attending the primary classes. V. That the arrangement of thcclasses and all details bo held oyer, to- enable the committee to consult with the Instructor.
