Wellington Land Board.
The monthly ineeting oil the Land Board was held on Thursday, Present— The Commissioner (Mr J. W. Marchant), Messrs J. Stevens, M.H R. A. W. Hogg, M.H.R., and A. Reese. With reference to the application received for section 21, block 2, Tiriraukawa (Hunterville No. 2 block) from Messrs M. Lynch and T. Hogan, it was resolved to approve Mr Lynch's application as Mr Hogan was not eligible. In consequence of an application to classify Rangatira, Kapiti, No. 4c block, the Commissioner informed the Board that by section 3 of the Kapiti Island Public Reserves Act, 1897, the land is not Grown land. Applications to obtain titles were approved as follows: — J. A. Beach, section 2, block 14, Tiriraukawa ; T. J. W. Walker, section 10, block 13, Makuri ; (j. T. Hall, section 25, block 14, Makuri. Application to transfer were approved in the following instances :- — T Rowling, section 1, block 7, Tiriraukawa, to E. Rowling. The Board resolved to approve the transfer of section 34, block 4, Apiti (Martin No. 1 block), from S. F. Grey to J. McEwen, provided no profit is made by the sale. A transfer from Messrs E. Thompson to P. Thompson of section 5, block 7, TJnmtoi, was approved, subject to further enquiry. Miss E. A. Dixon's application to transfer section 19, block 3, Hautapu, to J. Lee was deferred for the present, the same course being taken with regard to J. Woolston's proposal to transfer section 7, block 6, Tiriraukawa, to N. Johnston. Approval was given to the transference of section 20, block 4, Umutoi, to A, V, Venables and of section 19, block 4, Umutoi (Pohangina) from 0. F, Seager to A. V. Venables. H. Sinclair was given permission to erect a sawmill on section 7, block 3, Hautupu. Permission to mortgage was given the following selectors :— IL. W. Davis, W. C. and R. Morris, H. Bayley, R. W. Ourrie, G. Malcolm, F. J. Bloomfield, F. Withers, G. Carter, H. D. Hopkins, W. J, Martin, A. R. N. Haynes, E. E. Laurence. A conversion was approved in the case of B. de Malmanche. It was resolved to obtain further particulars from the School Commissioners re the suggested sale of sections in the Carnarvon suburbs ; to refer an application for reduction of rent by the Hautapu settlers to the Commissioner to deal with ; not to accede to Messrs J. and S. Dickenson's application for a reduction, in the price of section 9, block 5, Hautapu ; not to entertain the proposal to revalue the price of section 17, block 8, Tiriraukawa, suggested by A. Ericksen ; to afford T. Kennedy reasonable time in respect to section 13, Hautapu. The following selectors' interests were forfeited at their request for noncompliance with the conditions of sale: — E. Cornwall, section 20, block 1, Umutoi ; P. Eichler, section 11, block 5, Hautapu.
