Kiwitea County Council.
The ordiuary monthly meeting of the Kiwitea County Council was held at their offices, Feilding, to-day. Present Crs Tompkins (iv tbe chair), Atkinson, Williamson, Pemberton, Corry, Mitchell and Brewster. Correspondence was received and dealt with as follows : — From Postmaster, Feilding, stating tbe Department required that all subsidies towards telephone lines had to be paid in advance and would be adjusted at the end of the year. From C. K. Nicholas, stating that he intended to fence the boundary of bis section, No. 40, block 1, Apiti, and in doing so it would block the track on tbe Waipuru road. From W. Warren and H. Holmes requesting alteration of name oa rate roll for section 22, block X, Apiti, from former to latter. From Chief Surveyor, asking if the reGent fires bad destroyed or damaged any bridges or culverts in this district. From Commissioner of Crown Lands, re sections r * and 9, Jilock XV, Hautapu, stating the owners desired to have their " thirds " expended on the road between section 7 iind junction of Cross road instead of on Ruae road, and that if the necessary formal proposals were made there would be no objection to expenditure. From Mrs Densham, asking to have piece of land not required for road purposes traiiß-'erred to her in consideration for piece of land required for road deviation and taken by Council. From R. E. .Beckett account for £28 6s for bushfelling on road line. From Pohangina County Clerk, re proposed repairs to Apiti bridge and asking this Council to contribute one-third cost. From P. Krown, asking for payment of £8 12s 6d for felling bush on road line, Ongo riding. From Ranqitikei County Council clerk stating the £300 grant from Government for temporary repairs oa account of flood damage, had been equally divided between tLe Bulls, Onepubi, and Vinegar Hill bridge's. From Valuer General forwarding valuation rolls for inspection by ratepayers. From T. Watson, local agent Scottish Metropolitan Life Assurance Company, enclosing forms showing benefits to bo derived by insuring in that Company's employers liability assurance. From H. T. Hancox asking that his name be placed on rate roll for section 58 Rangiwabia in place of Bessie Me* Clegean. From H. T. Hancox, Rangiwahia, asking that a road be made to bis section and offering to do necessary work for £5. From J. Meehan resigning position of poundkeeper at Cheltenham. From J - Sinclair applying for a refund of £10 paid for cocksfoot seed, but which was now destroyed by tire. (Left Sitting.)
