Tclecrapb, Press Association. Copyright Sydnky, February 18. A tierce southerly gale is ragiug, with heavy rain. This Day. The gale and rain abated towards the morning. Several vessels dragged their anchors in the harbor. There were no casualties by tbe rough sea on tho coast. Tho shipping are sheltering. The coastal and intercolonial telo graphic services are much disorganised. There have been splendid rains in tho greater part of tho colony. Mklhournk, This Day. Almost the whole of the colony is sharing in the grand rains. A watersprout in the Bright district caused a flood, aud considerable damage was done to tho roads and to mining properties. Brishank, This Day. The rain continues, and the drought is completely broken in the Western and Central Districts. Many rivers are in flood. At Longreach, Constable Cabill, while attempting to rescue a family, was washed from his horse and drowned.
