Competitors' attention is particularly draws to tbo following Ruli:s and Rkgulatiovs — Nominations for all handicaps, including jumping events, must be in the hands of the secretary not later than Bth January, 1898; two shillings to be paid at time of nominating on events Nos. 3, 5, 9, 11, 14, 16, 18; one shilling on Nos. 4, 7, 10, 12, 13. The acceptance mentioned in programme to be paid at time of accepting. Competitor* are requested to send postal notes, not stamps. Nominations must be accompanied with a statement of tbe last two years' performances, also dates and localities of same. Each competitor must state hie handicap and position at finish of race, otherwise he will be liable to disqualification ; also, colors must be sent at time of nomination. There mnst be two competitors in each event, or no first prize; three, or no second ; four, or no third. Entries will be received and sports conducted under the Wanganui Caledonian Society's rules.
