His assailant was a man named Jewell, who is in possession of two wooden legs, tbe legacy from an accident. Jewell intercepted Kingston walking to his office and began to air his supposed grievances. Kingston said be had not time to listen to Jewell, who aimed a sever* blow with a stick at his bead. Kingston partially warded off tbe blow and secured tbe stick. Jewell then seised bim round tbe neck and attempted to carry out bis threat to pull tbe Premier's head off. Besides a slight wound in the head, Jewell's embrace caused tbe blood to flow freely from Kingston's neck. Jewell was arrested and sentenced to six weeks,
