The Manchester Rifles had a very good muster last night. Sergt.-Major Macmillan exercised the Corps in company movements. Lieut. Plrasants, Sergts. Aitken, Humphries, Corporals Fisher and Wilson instructed the men in the bayonet, manual and firing exercises. At tho conclusion of the parade Capt. Kirton on behalf of the officers, non-commissioned officers and men, thanked Sergt.-Mnjor Macmillan for his invariable courtesy, and wished him " A Merry Christmas and many of them." Sergt.- Major Macmillan made a suitable reply stating it was always a pleasant thing for him to do his duty, and thanked the Corps for their good wishes.
Church parade will be held on Sunday next when the Corps will attend Divine service in the Prcsbvterian Church.
The Financial Committee of the Manchester Rifles will meet on Thursday next.
Vol. Evans' aggregate for the best three competitions was— 63, 77, 73 — 213, and he therefore takes sixth place.
