The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Bill was iutroduced by the Governor's message, aud read a fir-U time.

The Aid to Public Works and Laud Settlement Act Amcndmuuc Bill was also introduced by the Governor's message and read a first tituo. Mr Swddou said he iuteuded to consider theso two measures as urg<*n:

Mr Seddon moved the second reading of the Aid to Public Works and Ltvnd Settlement Aot Amendment Kill, which proposes to empower the raising of JE250.000, of which .£200,000 is to be devoted to railway repairs mid the providing of rolling stock ; of £2;),000 for school buildings, and of £'25,000 for Technical Schools.
