BIRMINGHAM v. COLYTON.
This match for tbe premiership vns played at Colyton last Saturday and those who anticipated a clo9O finish were not disappointed, for after a clone struggle victory rested with the home team by 11 runs on the first inniugs, though had time permitted the tables might have been turned by a similar amount. Birmingham was not repre sented by its full strength, which might account for their defeat. The pitch played fair but a trifle fiery, owing to the recent spell of dry weather, and consequently bowlers bad it all their own way. For the winners D. Entwißle 17 and G. Millen 12 in the first and /. Entwi?le 18 and C. Millen 11 in tbe second innings, whilst for tbe Users C. Fantborpe 11 and Burne 10 not out, in the first, and Griffen 25 and C. Fanthorpe 27 in the second innings were the principal scorers. The bowling of tbe brothers J. and W. Entwisleand Barlow was very good. Afternoon tea was kindly provided by Mrs Nissen. By Colyton's win the struggle for tbe premiership remains very open, and their meeting with Feilding next Saturday, if the last named are strongly represented, will be productive of another keen struggle.
