The English cricketers began a match against 22 of Tamworth to-day, with the stipulation that the latter team should have but 13 men in the field. At 1 o'clock heavy rain set in. and by 3 o'clock the wicket was soddrned. The English batted first, llanjitsinhji was unable to play owing to an attack of qtiinsey. The innings closed for 141 — ■YYainwright, 16; Stoddart, oH ; and McLaren, 30, being the chief scorers. This Day. Tamworth has lost one wicket for eight runs.
