Sensational Money-lending Case.

Telegraph. Press Association. Copyright London, December 1. A sensational money lending case was heard at the Queen's Bench Division of the High Court of Justice. Mr Lewis, a well-known West End money lender, sued SecotdLieutenant H. H. Clay, of the Second Life Guards to recover the sum of £11,000 on two promissory notes alleged to have been signed by him jointly wifcn Lord William Neville, f oartb son of the Marquis of Abergavenny. Clay (wbo is the only son of the late Spencer Clay), of Ford Manor, and wbo was leff some considerable fortune pleaded in^ defence that be only signed the notes as a witness, not as a principal. The jnry believed bis story and found a verdict in bis favor. Lord William is at present residing in Spain.
