A Distressing Cycling Fatality.

Telegraph. Press Association. Copyright Christchurch, December 1. A distressing accident this afternoon resulted in the death of £ H S. Hill, employed in the Customs Office. The deceased was riding a bicycle along Casbel Street East, towards New Brighton, and was travelling behind a van which was conveying his furniture and also bis wife and children to New Brighton When near the Canal Reserve a baker's cart, driven by a young man named Cox, was met. As it passed, Hill left the rear of the carrier's ran and, being a novice at cycling, ran into the baker's cart, one of the shafts penetrating his body near the heart. Death was probably instantaneous. Deceased was 34 years of age.
