A joke is going round the Taranaki district that at a recent show three samples of the same churning of butter were sent. One took first, the other second, whilst the unfortunate third was disqualified. In consequence of tho Feilding races being held on the same date as that apKointed for his sale at Birmingham Mr fr Carr has determined to hold his stuok aale at the latter place on Wednesday, December Bth. The UF.C.A. is making a very fine display of linoleums, carpets, and carpet squares. Even in larpe cities we have seldom seen a finer assortment. The linoleum squares, Axminster, Wilton pile, velvet pile. Brussels and tapestry squares are exquisite in their colourings and are certainly very moderate in price. Now that spring cleaning is in full swing, we should urge upon ladies the advisability of inspecting these goods and makiDg a selection.— Advt,
