A Vessel Struck by a Tidal Wave.
o (Per Press Association.) Melbourne November 0. The details of the loss of four men from the steamer Woolloomooloo on her last Homeward run shows that the fatality was caused by a tidal wave, which struck the vessel in a smooth sea two days after passing the meridian of Cape Leu win. Five passengers and the seamen were on deck, when suddenly a wave fully 50ft high arose and made for the vessel with the velocity of a projrc tile. It struck her with a report liho a discharge of artillery. The vessel heeled over 33 degree". Three seamen aod oue passenger (the latter named Clark) were washed away.
