Mr Chamberlain, Secretary of State for the Colonies, speaking at Glasgow, referred to the extraordinary loyalty of th' 3 self-gov»rning oolonies to the Motherland, and said that although Imperial union was distant they might always reckon in the time of danger upon their sister nations freely using their resources in England's aid. The Crown colonies required capital, and if invested there would prove profitable. If the Government granted loans or guaranteed interest on them capital would immediately be forthcoming^
