Total for six wickets 278 The attendance at the cricket match was over 17,000, despite the counter attraction of the races.

The batting throughout was most consistent but cautious, the bowling not permitting of liberties. Bruce alone showed freedom, and his characteristic cutting was much in evidence, and with Graham he made a useful stand. Graham's batting was not up to his old form.
