Messrs Abraham and Williams report as follows : —
At Colyton on Tuesday the entry was chiefly confined to sheep. The reserves were high and little consequently done under the hammer. In the end the bulk was disposed of. Cattle made recent rates at Palmerston on Thursday. A good yarding of cattle was penned and mostly useful steers. Bidding was brisk throughout and prices advanced somewhat upon recent rates. Sheep in small supplj*. Sheep in their wool were not in demand. Shorn wethers sold briskly and full values were offered for those passed in. We quote : —
At Colyton— Two year steers, 38s ; 2$ year do, £3 3s. Hoggets made 5s l()d to 7slod; forward wsthers, lln; fat t wes, 10s 8d ; fat shorn ewes, 6s lid.
At Palmerston — Good 4-tooth Lincoln store wethers, shorn, 7s 6d ; hoggets in the wool, 7s 4d ; fat ewes in wool, 9s. Fat bullocks, light weights, JE4 14s 6d ; store bulloekn, in fresh condition, £3 6s fid to £4 ; 2 year steers, £2 8s 6d ; 16 month steers, 34s 6d ; fat cows, £3 8s to J-3 16s ; milch cows, 30s to JS4 15s. Small porkers, 15s 6d ; stores, 9s 6<l.
