Gardner Bros. Concert Company

Messrs Garduer Bros. Concert Com pany will occupy the Asaembly Rooms on Monday night. Mr Fred Gardner i« recognised a* being the finest slide) trombonist who has yet appeared in tbn colonies, and his playing of that in strument at once stamped him as a master. Each item on the programme) has been vociferously encored in every town whore the copany has performed. A main feature of the programme is tho absence of ant vulgarity. Mr John Gardner, violinist, is a young performer and has been leader of several orchestras in companies performing in Sydney, and in playing tho "Birds of the forest," bis masterpiece, exhibits great control over his instrument. Mr Andrew Gardner, flautist, piccolo, and piano soloist is like his brothers, a musician born, his piccolo solos are worth going a long distance to listen to. Mr Thomas Curran, as a descriptive singer, is a performer of no mean calibre, bis selec tioas are listened to with the greatest interest. Mr Wvnyard Joss' selections on the mandoline is another feature in the company, and his playing gained for him triple encores, whenever he ba3 appeared. He is the leading mandolinist for the Banjo Guitar and Mandolin Club in Auckland, which position we understand he has held for many years. Miss E. L. Featon, soprano, and Miss Marie Quinn make themselves favorites from their first appearance on the stage to the fall of the curtain. The concert concludes with a grand limelight tableau representing ' Her Majesty the Queen.'
