Tbe Council met at 2.30

The Hon the Minister foe Education, replying to Mr Stevens, stated that the Auditor»General insisted on wardens signing returns of gold reveuue, which wardens declined to do, and in which action they had been supported by Crown law officers.

The motion that tbe Conncil adjourn till the 16th inst. was negatived by IB to 11, and the Couucil adjourned at 'i.50 till Tuesday.
