Wedding.

o A pretty wedding was celebrated i the Presbyterian Church, F«ildipi yesterday afternoon, the contractin parties being Mr Arthur George Cart] second son of Mrs J. P. Leary, t 11 Hazeldene," Palmerston North, an Miss May Elizabeth, eldest daughter c Mr R. J. Thompson, of Feilding. Un fortunately the weather was very un favorable, bnt nevertheless there was i Vood attendance of the well wisbers o the happy couple at the church, thi altar of which was tastefully decoratec for the occasion. The bride, who wai dressed in a fasbiouable crenie cashmere with the orthodox veil and orang< blossoms, was given away by her fathei and was attended by Misses E. and A. L Thompson («isters of the bride), whe were attired in pale blue nans' veiling and wore gold brooches set with pearh and rubies, the gifts of the bridegroom The bride carried a shower bouquei made by Mr H. Wornfold and the gift of the bridegroom. Mr R. S. Carty, brother of the bridegroom, acted as beat man. The Rev. Charles Murray, M.A., Preaby. terian Minister of Carterton, conducted service. On the bridal party enter the church the choir sang a wedding hymn and also at the conclusion of the service, and Mr S. S. Moore, who presided at the harmonium, played Mendelsohn's wedding march as the bride and bridegroom left the church after tho service. Threo little girls preceded the bride from the altar after the ceremony strewing flowers along her pathway. The relatives of the happy couple were entertained at an "At Home" by Mr and Mrs Thompson during the afternoon. As showing the high esteem in which Mr and Mrs Carty are held they were the recipients of a large number of valuable presents. In the evening Mr and Mrs Carty left by Ihe north train, amidst a shower of rice and the good wishes of their numerous friends.
