Murder in North Queensland.

(Per Press Association.) Cooktown, October 26. A selector named firannigan, residing in Hidden Valley, has been remanded on a charge of murdering a black boy. Brannigan's sou informed the police, because his father threatened to shoot him for refusing to fire into the house of a neighbour against whom he bad a l rudge. He stated that his father killed the boy in bin employ with an axe on October 4th, and took tho police to the spot whoro the boy wan buried, aud tbe remains were exhumed. The son utates that he was afraid to give the information at the time of tho murder as his father threatened to shoot him.
