We bare received a copy of the report and balance-sheet of tbe United Farmers' Co operative Association for the year ending August 31st, 1897, which shows that after making ample provision for bad and doubtful debts, tbe nott profit available for distribution, including balance carried forward from last yoas, amounts to £3668 10s lOd. Tbe directors recommend that it be disposed of as follows :— Payment of 6 per cent dividend on capital, and 2 per cent bonus on shareholders' purchases, write oil half cost of raising debentures, write a further £150 off plant, and after pro* viding for directors' fees, bonus to employees, auditor's fees, and income tax, carry the balance of say £900 forward. " Daring tbe past year 1171 shares have been allotted- The report further mentions that extensive additions to the Feilding branch have been erected in brick, and further accommodation for storage of grain and produce is contemplated during tbe ensuing year. Trade has shown a satisfactory increase, which it is hoped will be fully maintained in tlie future. The annual meeting will be held on November 2nd.
