Fires at Auckland.

(Per Press Association). Auckland, October QO. Tbe old Wbatawbata Hotel was totally destroyed by fire last night. It was occupied by Mrs McLeisti as a boarding bouse. The building was insured for £150. There has been fonr fires in Whata* whata within tbe 'ast month. First, there was a fire at Mrs Bruce's, then Mr Dickey's residence was destroyed. Mr Lane's new hotel was the next to e,o, apd last night tbe old hotel, also the property of Mr Lane, was burned. As in the other cases no cause can be given for tbe fire, and it» origin remains a mystery. There are rumours of incendiarism.
