Shipping Disasters.
■♦— : (Per Press Association.) Sydney, This Day. The British-India steamer, Bhundarra, outward bound from Newcastle, was caught by the tide and carried with terrific force against the barque Highlands, which was moored in the river. The Bhundarra had her bulwarks from the forecastle to the main bridge stove in, and also broke three of her propellor blades. Her damage is estimated at £1000. The Highlands was also extensively damaged, and made half an inch of water in 20 minutes. The steamer Warrimoo brings news that the steamer Tavinui ran into a gale of cycloue force after leaving Sydney on an Island tour. The second officer, named Rowe, a native of Syney, was washed overboard and drowned while assisting to secure the starboard ash shoot. In rounding the vessel to after the accident a sea struck her, smash ing several boats.
