The Weather.

oA heavy rain commenced to fall last night and continued to fall during to-day. All the creeks and rivere in the district are rising with all the prospects of a flood. Captain Edwin's forecast today is as follows:— Wind between N. and W. and S.W. at all places north of Napier and New Plymouth, and between N.E. and E. and S- elsewhere. Barometer rising everywhere, but falling again after 16 hours. Moderate to strong westerly winds are to be expected north of Napier and New Plymouth and moderate to strong easterly winds at all other places. (Per Press Association). Asbubst, This Day. By a heavy slip in the Gorge the Napier express was blocked here for four hours.
