The Police Force.
(Per Press Association.) Auckland, October 5. The Rev. F. M. Isitt, at a public meetthis evening, made a number of charges against the police force and department generally, and especially defended the action of Mr T. Taylor in the General Assembly. The following resolution was carried unanimously: — " That this meeting is of opinion that the Qovernment should immediately appoint a Royal Commission to enquire into the charges made in the House of Representatiret and elsewhere in respect to the police force, and that the onus of the reform of the force should not be thrown entirely upon the new Commissioner, Mr Tanbridge"
