The Prince of Wales' racehorse Persimmon (by St. Simon — Perdita II) has been sent to the stud. Lochiel's son Survivor placed Mr W. Kelso far and away the largest winner at the A. J. C. Meeting, his cheque amounting to 12409. Crosslake and Holbrook, also sons of Lochiel, won JE2B6 and £335. The total amount given in stakes was £12,778. At a sale of racehorses in Sydnoy the other da%-, there was no ofter for lioyal Rose. Holbrook (who was sold subject to the owner's approval) was knocked down for £800, but his owner declined to part with the horse even at this high figure. Lady Gordon, dam of Pokomoko, missed to Tho Workman last season, and visits him again. Puritan, sire of Umslopogaas, the Grand National Hurdle Race winner, died at Otaki the other day from inflami mation accelerated by bots. Puritan was bred by Mr H. Redwood.
