In the 100 yards swimming race at Hornsey both beats were won by Tyers, who beat Derbyehire and Helhngs, who beat CobeD, the Englishman, L.indberg, the Australian, being a touch behind. The final resulted in a magnificent struggle. Hellings swan 44 yards in 25 seconds, and waa clear of bis opponents at 76 yards, being a yard ahead of Derbyshire and a yard and a half of Tyers. Hellings misied the final turn, and Tyers, with a splendid apur*, won by six inches, Hellings and Deryshire a dead heat for second place. Time, 63 3- sth sec.
