The Railway Accident in Auckland.
(Per Press Association.) Auckland, October 2. In the case of young Leys, who was 14 years old, it was seen from the outset that the case was hopeless. His injury was a fracture of the skull. A deep scalp wound had mercifully rendered him unconscious, and he died shortly after bis admission to the hospital. William Ness, the driver, who bad left tbe hospital but a few months ago, was found to have a very bad fracture of the skull, and he died at 8 o'clock this morning. The lad Charles Akast bad nil hand out off and his legs so severely injured that it was found necessary to amputate both legs and one arm. He died a few bonrs afterwards. Mr J. E. Parkin has suffered seven wounds on tbe skull, but be was ablo to walk to the ward with the assistance of a nurse. The lad Holmden, ons of the Grammar School boys, received a wound on the head, and his leg was cut to the bone. These two cases are not, however, regarded as hopeless.
