Mr 0. T. Ritchie, President of the Hoard of Trade;, has submitted a basis for the settlement of the long-standing strike in the engineering trade. He suggests that h conference be held between the Federation of Employers and representatives of the Amalgamated Society of Engineers to discuss the points in dispute. The engineers are agreeable to the suggested conference.
