Messrs Abraham and Williams' stock report : —

At Pahiatna on Tuesday we had only three or four pens of sheep entered. Cattle mustered freely. Bidding, as is usual at Pahiatua, was dull under the hammer, but we eventually cleared all the sheep and the bulk of the cattle entered. Those passed in were low conditioned and inferior sort*.

At Palmarston on Thursday several pens of sheep and cattle advertised Hid not come forward. We cannot say there was any improvement is store sheep, though wethers sold better than of late. The cattle entered ware naontly inferior in condition and quality, find sold at low prices. We quote : —

At Pahiatua— Sheep— Fe.t wethers, 13s ; store wethers, 9s 4d ; fat ewes (light) 8s ; empty ewes, 6s 9<i. Cattle — Fat bollocks, £6 7s 6d ; s>year5 > year steers, ±3 7s to -t'3 17s 6d ; 18-month steers, 37s to 39s ; 2 year heifers ia calf, £2 6s ; 3 year do., L 3 to L3 lss ; springing cows, L 4; weaners, 22a.

At Palmerston— Sheep— Fat ewes, 8s to 9s ; forward wethers, lls Id ; forward ewes, 7s Id ; wether hoggets, 8s 3d. Cattle - Light beef, L 4 15s ; fat heifers (small) L 2 12s 6d ; cows, £3 7s 6d; 18-month steers, (low condition; 26s to 335; 10 month heifers, 255; porkers, 18s 6d.

Messrs Lowes and lortis report at their fortnightly stock sale at Masterton last Thursday:— We had a good entry in fat sheep, all prime lots soiling freely ; the price of the season being obtained for both wethers and ewes namely 13s and Us respectively. Other classes of sheep were fairly represented and all bnt one lot selling before »he close of the sale. Beef was in iatber short supply, what offered sold nnder the hammer. In stores some useful cattle were yarded, all meeting witb a ready sale, showing a better demand. ▲ number of dairy cows and heifers were penned nearly all finding purchasers. In pigs the en tries comprised soall weaners. During the afternoon we submitted 2 entire horses, one Clydesdale and one trotter. Both were passed, bnt are now under offer to Masterton residents. Prime fat wethers, 13s ; prime fat ewes, lls ; medium fat ewes, 10.*; 6d and 9s 6d ; forward ewes, 7s Gd ; forward wethers, 10s ; store ewes, 6s ; crossbred store wethers, 7s to 7s 9d ; best ewes and lambs, 10s ; best hoggets, 8s 8d ; others 6s. Best -Bollocks, 95s to 105s ; cows and heifers, 75s to 90s ; forward bullocks, 80s; three years, 70s; two years, 56s ; yearlings, 85s ; store heifers, 455; calves, 15s to 20s; dairy cows, according to quality, 40a to 100s. Small pigs, 5s to 5s 9d.

Mr Matthew Henry reports : — A pood entry of stock came forward to-day, the cattle pens being filled with mixed stock. The sheep forward were composed chiefly of hoggett , which were not in the request their quality demanded, the chief attraction being aline of magnificent fnt wethers, bred and fed by Mr Collins, Waihora. They were certainly the best sheep ever put through this sale ring, and reflect great credit on the breeder. They realised 14s. Although the attendance was good the volume of business done was not great. "We quote: —

Cattle — Forward steers £3 10s, fat cows £3 6s, springing heifers j£4 2s 6d, store cows £2 ss.

Sheep — Fat wethers 14s, fat ewes 9a 4d, ewe hoggets 6s 9d.

Mr Chas. Carr report as follows : —

Feilding sale, Friday, 17th inst. A full yarding of both cattle and sheep came forward consisting of 320 head of cattle and between 3000 and 4000 sheep. Although moat of the cattle were quitted, there was no improvement in values. The sheep yarded were of excellent quality, consisting principally oE wethers and hoggets. A line of 550 hoggets bred by Messrs J. and R. Henson, of Sandon, were much admired and realised 9s Id.

Cattle — Springing heifer?., 31s to JE4 13s ; milch cows (springing), £4 ss ; fat cows, £3 to L 3 15s ; empi/v heifers, £2 ss ; 18-month steers, 28s to 33s ; yearlings, 20s to 35s 6d ; weaners, IDs to 17s 6d ; 2i-ye.tr steers, £1 2s to £2 lf>s.

Sheep — Hoggets, 3s 3d, 6s 3d, 6s 6d, 6s lOd, 7s 6d, Bs, 9s Id ; wethers, 8s 7d, 10s, 10s Id, 10s Bd, 10s 9d ; fat wethers, lls 6d, 12e 3d ; fat ewes, 8s Id ; empty ewes, OS.
