Disastrous Fire at Broken Hill.
(Per Press Association.) Svdnet, September 13. Immense quantities of water and steam poured from the burning mine all day. Smelting and other works have been stopped. A largo number of men are idle. Tbe outbreak has been located and the smoke greatly diminished. Steady progress is being made to confining it to a small area, where tbe original prospects of success are hopeful. All the men affected with tbe fumes are recovering.
