DENBIGH STREET BRIDGE.
(TO TBS EDITOR) Sin,—You will kindly allow me, on behalf oi a much neglected section of burgesses to protest against thu action of fi number of our " City Father* " at their lust meeting re the above much-needed work, Sonic months since they placed £200 on the Borough estimates fo replacing the bridge, absent for about 10 years or more. They now show their beautiful consistency by voting against the planw, \-c, being completed, having evidently made up their big minds to oppose tho work being done n.t all. Tf those gentlemen could sec the extensive use made of the desperate ford by all sorts of vehicles, and the large number of pedestrians who risk life and limb in (rossing the 80-called, paltry excuse for a foot-bridge, even "they" might see reason for withdrawing their opposition. Again, if they would find out the amount of rates paid by the residents of that central and important thoroughfare, they would sec, I trust, that common honesty weuld induce them to make tome return for over 10 years' rates. Any bow, they will please take notice, that the residents of that street, and those abutting on it don't intend to allow the matter to rest until their legal and moral rights are conceded. Many thanks, to His Worship the Mayor, and the Councillors, who voted consistently with the estimates, and to do justice to the ratepayers in. question. I am, \*c, Faih Play.
