The Egmont Farmers' Union report: —At Stratford, ou 27th August, abont tbe usual number of cattle came forward. There was a better enquiry for young stock, but dry cows and backward dairy cows were hard to place. Our monthly horse fair held on tbe 28th August was well attended by buyers. We submitted a large number of hordes, and bidding for draughts and good trap horses was spirited, but anything weedy was seglectod. For the Hawera sale on the Ist inst., fully the advertised number of stock came forward, but tbe cattle were not up to our usual Hawera quality, and none of tbe beef was very prime. The sheep were good ijuality, and bidding tor those and fat bullocks was better tban than of Ute. At oar monthly sale at Okaiawa on tbo 2nd inst. tbe bulk of tbe stock yarded were cows and heifers.
