Cheltenham Rifle Club.
The first annual gonoral meeting of the Cheltenham Rifle Club was held on Saturday, September 4th. The Captain (Mr Jas. Barrow) was in the chair. Twenty members were present. After the minutes of the first meeting had been read the chairman requested the Secretary to road tbe report and balance sheet. Tho hitter showed receipt* from all sourcns to bo X'2'2 3s 6d»and expenditure £23 15s ;~>d leaving a debit balance of el Us lid. There were no liabilities and the assets were LlO 12s 6d. The ba'anco sheet and report having been adopted the meeting resolved that the following gentlemen be elected to tho offices mentioned sub ject to their consent being obtained : — Patron, F. Y. Lethbridge, Esq. ; President, 1). Downes Esq, ; Vice-presidents, Messrs W. Mitchell, J. Meehan, C Bragge, W. F. Mcßeth. The election of the executive was then proceeded with and the following officers appointed:— Captain, Mr Jas. Barrow ; vice-captain, Mr Spencer ; hon. secretary, Mr Tom p. ler : treasurer, Mr Bruce, (all re-elected) ; committee, Messrs W. Mills, Taylor, Evonsen, McColls and Woodman ; handicapping committee, the captain and Messrs Mill, Bruco and Templer. It was resolved that a practice match be held on every Saturday on which no other match was going on, to commecco at two pm , scores to be regularly kopt ; also that the treasurer order|looo rouuds of ammunition at once. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the retiring officers, to Messrs Mills and Spencer for their services in preparing the range and targets and to the douors of Jprizes, after which tho meeting adjourned.
