(Per Press Association.) Dunedin, Sept. '4. Tbe return football match, Southland y. Otago, was won by Southland by 4 points to oil. Drizzlin? rain fell for most of tbe day and tbe ball and ground were very greasy. The visiting forwards were not so superior to the local men as was expected, but in comparison with tbe local men their backs were brilliant, kicking, passing and handling the greasy ball in fine style. Christchurch, Sept. 4. The football match Wellington v. Can terbury resulted in win for Wellington by 4 points (potted goal) to nil. The game was mostly forward, no combination being shown by the backs on cither side.
