The Ginematograohe.

There was a crowded house 'ast night to witness the first night's production of the above. The machine i» & marvel, and no one should miss fleeing it. Briefly explained it mean* forty photographs per second, or 2500 per minute. So rapid were the changes that bat one continuous picture was exhibited, Bhowing the figures portrayed going tbrocgb every motion with such realism as to cause a doubt as to whether the onlooker was viewing the actual scene or merely the photograph of same. The picture of Sandow, the strong man, was not shown. The pictures exhibited were as follows— King's Road, Brighton, a really splendid one and loudly ap planded ; Miss St. Cyr in her serpentine dance, which conld not well bare been excelled ; the interior of a barber's shop; cartoonist sketching the Queen ; a scene at the Zoological Gardens— trainer feeding tbe elephant ; fire brigade practice ; Layman, the man with tbe 1000 faces, Tery loudly and deservedly applauded ; dentists' room ; steamers at sea, in which the smoke from the funnel and the steam from the exhaust pipe were plainly seen : the widow's kits, creating roars of laughter ; market place id Paris ; haunted castle, another very good picture; children on tbe sands; a double Irish reel by two of the " Gaiety girls," which could not have been bettered in actual life; bar room scene ; Van Bfeo's broken melody ; a scene in a gambling saloon at Monte Carlo. Everybody present was well satisfied with tbe quality of tbe exhibition that was placed before them, and every picture was applauded. We would advise all our readers to make a point of attending to oight.
