Prohibited Persons.

+■ (Per Press Association.) Auckland, August 19. A question as to the liability of pnbli. cans with regard to serving prohibited persons came op at the Police Court, the licensee of tbe Waitemata Hotel being charged with supplying a prohibited person with liquor when a prohibition order had been issued. The only intimation the hotelkeepers receive is a notice which is posted to them. In this case the name was spelt wrongly on the order, so that the pronunciation of it was entirely different. His Worship therefore dismissed the case and ordered a fresh prohibition order to be issued so as to obviate all possibility of any future mistake.
