Feilding School Committee.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the Feilding School Committee was held last evening. Present — Messrs F. F. Haggitt (secretary). J. Taylor, J. S. Milson, J. Wood, C. Bray, E. Goodbehere, W. Spence. In the absence of the chairman, Mr Wood was voted to the chair. Apologies for non-attendance were received from the chairman (Mr Carthew) and Mr W. G. Haybittle. Correspondence was received from the Education Board confirming the appointment of Miss JBarr as second assistant. Also, stating the capitation for the quarter was £12 11s Bd. From Mrs Turner, asking that she be paid 5s a month more than paid at present for cleaning the school, as there were two new rooms. — Resolved, That Mrs Turner be paid 5s a month additional. The head master, Mr J. C. Hill, reported that the average attendance for the month was 328. Mr Taylor, one of the visiting committee for the past month, reported on the state of the school. — Keport received. Accounts amounting to £5 6a 9d were passed for payment. It was resolved, Ihat the Education Board be esked to refund the cost of freight and cartage on desks. Resolved, That Messrs Goodbehere and Milson be the visiting committee for the ensuing month. The meeting then adjourned.
