STOCK MARKET, Tbe Epmont Farmers' Union, of Hawera, report on their stock market as follows : — At the clearing sale on Mr Exley's Farm last Tuesday, 27th Jnly, cows were not forward enough to command good competition, but farm sundries sold well. On Wednesday, 28th July, at Manaia the number of stock was not very large, bat there was a good attendance of buyers, and young cattle sold well. We quote: — At Exley's.— Cattle — Dairy cows and heifers, £3 to £5 10s ; steers, 18- months 35s to 40s 6d. Sheep- Hoggets 5s 9d. At Manaia.— Cattle— Dairy cows, £2 15s to M ; springing heifers, £2 to £3 5s ; weaners, 17s to 19s 6d ; fat sheep 9s 3d to 14s. At the beginning of July the following were the prices for fat sheep at the leading markets in the Anstralasian colonies :— Melbourne — Heavy crossbred wethers, 21s to 22s 9d ; prime, 16s to 20s ; good, 13s Cd to 15s ; heavy cross bred ewes, 18s to 20s 6d ; prime, 15s to 17s 6^; good, 12s to 14s; prime merino wethers, los to 18s 3d ; crossbred lambs, 10s to 13s 3d. Sydney - Prime cross-bred wethers, 10s 4d ; extra, 14s to 16s ; cross bred ewes to 8s lOd ; prime merino wethers, 10s to 11s ; extra, 14s ; prime lambs, 7s to Bs. Adelaide— Prime merino wethers, 16b to 17s 6d ; good 13s to 15s; extra prime merino ewes, 16s to 17s ; prime crossbred wethers, 20s to 22s 6d ; extra, 255 ; good, 16s to 18b ; prime crossbred ewes, 17s to 19s; good, 14a to 16s; prime lambs 10s to 12s. Chmtcharch— Prime cross-bred wethers, 15s to 17a 3d ; good. 13s to 14s 6d ; prime crossbred maiden ewes, 12s to 14i 6d ; prime cross bred ewes, 108 6d to 12s 8d ; best merino wethers, 8s to 9s Id ; best cross bred, lambs, 9s 6d to 10s Id. |At Feilding in tbe first week in July a line of Lincoln wethers realised 11s 6d, the top price for the season up to that time ; while fat ewes sold up to 9s and mixed lambs up to 7s 6d.J
