[Per Press Association.) Reefton, July 31. Morris Levy, an old and respected resident, died last night after a rather protracted illness. Deceased had been prominently connected with mining hero for many years. Wellington, July 31. The action that the Public Trustee brought against Sir W. Buller under the Horowhenua Act of last year was discontinued to-day. However, in Cham bers a motion made on behalf of Sir W. Bailer to compel the Trustee to go on with the action, and after considerable argument, the Chief Justice granted the motion. The police are vigorously enforcing the provisions of the Age of Consent Law. Two persons are already under committal, another, an elderly man, was committed yesterday, and four are await ing trial. The evidence betrayed as founding immorality among girls of tender age. Christchurch, July 31. The Metropo'itan Cycla Show Esecu tivo have 10,000 superficial feet available for the November show, but inquiries prove that this ia totally inadequate, and arrangements are being mado to secure extra space.
